Runner Notes

The trail is usually covered in wood chips in summer, which makes for loose, awkward footing.

Description

This loop circles Alberta Park, a medium-sized park in the Concordia neighborhood of northeast Portland. The park features a couple of open fields and a stand of large conifers, in addition to a playground and basketball courts. Part of the tree-covered area is also an off-leash dog run, so be prepared to encounter dogs.

The estimate of 40 ft elevation difference between ends of the park seems drastically high as you barely notice the gentle slope when running the loop.

Southern side of the loop, with one of the two large fields contained in the loop in the middle ground. Gives a sense of the wood chip ground cover, though this is worn down from not being replaced most of the winter.
