Runner Notes

Cross over creeks twice, both times on bridge. Bathrooms at trailhead. There are a few berms on this trail, so you can take the corners faster.

Description

Head south from Adams Canyon and in about 0.2 miles, the trail will spilt. Follow the trail down to cross the first bridge, this is a little steep and has trees and rocks so a little technical then climbs out and has a steep technical spot at the top. The trail continues on with rollers for about a mile, this is a great spot to make up some time if you have been going slow on the climb.

Make your way down a rugged and technical descent to the next creek crossing which has rocks. There's a steep climb out on the other side. The climb out can be very slick when the trail is wet. Once on top it is a downhill romp for about 0.5 miles, there are some ruts on this section and then it drops onto hardpack with rock that is a gentle slope down to the trailhead. There is a small trail off to the left that goes around the gate.

Flora & Fauna

Scrub Oak along the trail - nice colors in the fall, usually in Sept. You might see a deer in the early morning or evening.
