Description
The Millbrook Mountain Carriageway, marked by yellow blazes, begins on the southern corner of Lake Minnewaska. It runs south along the Palmaghatt Ravine edge with a slight uphill climb. The first trail junction is with the Hamilton Point and Castle Point trails which turn to the right. The Millbrook Mountain Carriageway is a left at this juncture.
Approximately a quarter of the way along the trail, the
Gertrude's Nose Trail (red blazes) will depart to the right and will continue to follow the lip of the ravine. This is the point at which the Millbrook Mountain Carriageway turns to the east. The trail then hooks around and will eventually come very close to the opposite end of the
Gertrude's Nose Trail where it meets up with the
Millbrook Ridge Trail and the
Millbrook Mountain Trail. There isn't actually a true junction with these four trails, and the official trail is an out and back; however, the trails are within close proximity and are easily discernible.
