Two sections of the route travel through private property. One on a public road that is open, the other only accessible on race day.

1. Mile 3.5-4.3 (also 95.2-96) is labeled as "Railroad Service Road" on Google Maps, and there are signs on the ground that indicate it is a public road that travels through private property, so access is possible throughout the year.
2. Mile 23.5-24.75 (also 74.6-75.8) goes through a field between CR300 and CR11 (Halfmoon Road), which is only open on race day.

Overview

Want an LT100 number? Good luck. For starters, you'll have to enter a lottery in December. Consult the official race website for all information.

Runner Notes

You'll encounter everything that beats your body down. Grinding climbs, pounding descents & a notable amount of pavement in and out of Leadville. Be prepared for all manners of alpine conditions - snow, freezing rain & scorching sun.

Description

LT100 is an out and back from downtown Leadville.

The primary obstacle is the formidable 12,600' Hope Pass, near the apogee of the course. That section is simultaneously the most beautiful and most painful part of the race. Hope will threaten to drain just that from you as you dig deep to get up and over on both the outbound & return.

The notorious Powerline section is the 1st and last significant climb of the course. This brutal section accounts for more than 4,000' of vertical change and is characterized by loose, rutted, consistently steep doubletrack following, well... a powerline.

The final crusher is the long stretch of road back into Leadville.
