Need to Know

There is very little shade during the summer and temperatures in the area can easily exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Carry water.

$5 day use fee for Aguirre Campground.

Description

The Pine Tree Trail is a four-mile loop providing spectacular views of the Organ Mountains and the Tularosa Basin.

From the Aguirre Springs Campground, park at the trailhead east of the campground loop. The trail sign is large. Run up from the road and the trail will soon bisect at .25mile. Turn left. Just short of a mile turn right to continue on the Pine Tree trail.and climb to the base of the Organ Needles before continuing the loop back to the intersection .25 away from the trailhead.

Flora & Fauna

Cholla cacti and prickly pear. Rabbits, lizards, rattlesnakes are all in the area.
