Runner Notes
The couple of steep sections make running down very difficult. But know there will be no cyclists, just hikers and the occasional runner wanting an extra cardio workout.
Description
As you head down the
Tennessee Valley Trail, the second right is your starting point. This trail takes a sharp right turn to begin heading north. Take note of the willows on the right and the creek flowing by.
As you begin a sweeping left hand turn, the climbing begins. From this point, visitors will continue to climb almost all the way to the top! There are numerous section that are very steep. Many a visitor ends up taking this trail backwards, some say to take in the eastern view, others to relieve the quads.
Just short of meeting the
Coastal Trail, the route flattens out, finally. Once you've gained the ridge, enjoy the sweeping views!
