The park sometimes closes this trail during the spring and parts of summer due to the nesting activities of Peregrine Falcons. So, always check the path’s status on the park’s
website before heading out to this run.
Description
If you want to run Jordan Cliffs and Penobscot Mountain on the same day, this is the best path to take between the two trails.
The path connects the northern end of Jordan Cliffs with Penobscot's summit. If you are running Jordan Cliffs and Penobscot Mountain in a counterclockwise manner - which is the recommended route - you'll take this trail up the mountain in a southwest manner. There are a few steep crags you have to climb on the way to the summit, but none that are unmanageable, especially if you've just come up Jordan Cliffs. Right near the top of the trail, you'll get some great views of Jordan Pond and The Bubbles.
Overall, this trail might seem like just another insignificant connecting path, but it is a lot of fun to climb, and it has some great vistas!
Flora & Fauna
The trail has multiple ferns, mosses, and a variety of low-lying scrubs scattered among its large rocky base.
