Start at the Peaceful Valley Ranch parking lot and head to the northeast. There are many wildlife trails in the area and some markers may be broken off by bison. In less than a mile, the trail intersects with the paved Park road.

Runners and horseback riders can continue on to the Jones Creek Trail and do a loop of over 11 miles in the park or stop at the parking lot at the intersection of the CCC Trail and Jones Creek Trail. This trail is very flat and during wet conditions may have swampy areas, or once conditions dry, may have numerous dried bison tracks which can make for an undesirable trail surface.
