This trail is best ridden in a southerly direction (toward the Scenic River Trail), but is fun to ride both ways if you don't mind a hike-a-bike on the final climb before reaching the Archer's Fork Loop Trail.
Near the half way point on the trail, the trail comes very close to County Road 9 (within 40-50 feet). It's common for riders to jump on and off the trail at this point to bypass sections of the trail or to create a short loop using a combination of road and trail.
This trail is also part of the route for the North Country Trail and Pioneer Trail.
