Description
To reach Thompson Hollow, begin at the start of Skyline Drive and turn left onto U.S. 340. Head out on U.S. 340 for around ten miles to Bentonville. Take a left onto SR 613. Go a few hundred yards and head right onto SR 630.
From there, it's a little over two miles to the park boundary. The road here is paved but fairly narrow. Look for the small parking area at the end of the road. When you park, make sure to not to block the road or any access to private property.
A Park Service sign will mark that you are at the Thompson Hollow Trail. The trailhead itself is still a few hundred yards ahead, up a private gravel road. You are required to run and not drive up the road from the parking area. Look for the blue blazes and they will lead to the beginning of the trail at the park boundary.
The singletrack itself is short and heads up through the forest until it ends at the
Tuscarora Trail.
