Description
This very popular trail connects the upper bluff to the sandy and driftwood-strewn beach at the bottom. It's a fairly steep, narrow path to the bottom, with areas of mud depending on the time of year. You'll share the path with trail runners, leashed dogs* and little kids, who will enjoy the trip down but may complain about the steep ascent on the way back up. They'll also be sure to point out the smell of the nearby waste treatment plant, which you'll notice as you approach the beach, but which usually dissipates once you get a little further along. Along the trail, there are a couple platforms with benches where you can take a short rest and peak at the gorgeous views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains in the distance.
(*Note: Dog owners should know that dogs are not allowed on the beach itself.)
