This trail starts at the intersection of the Chewich river trail. Near the intersection there is a horse camp and it's big. We stopped here for lunch and continued on the Tungsten trail. I heard or read that miners used this route to supply workers, goods and food to those working at the tungsten mine, and that this was the main route for moving the mineral out as well. Due to the industrial past of the area, the trail goes up and without the benefit of switchbacks.

On parts of this trail you get a really closed in feeling, especially when its quiet. Trees and other local flora grow and sometimes overgrow the trail. We spotted a Spruce Grouse that flew across the trail and landed in a nearby tree. We heard the bird before we saw it.

If you started at the Thirtymile trailhead and plan to end somewhere in the vicinity of the Tungsten mine, the last part of this long trip seems to be the steepest. You start to see some manmade metal objects and then you know the end of the trail and the intersection of the boundary trail is near.
