Start at the parking lot in Boiling Park, and take the white-blazed trail starting at the SE corner of the park. Follow the white blazes along the river before turning into the forest. The trail is all singletrack that leads through covered forest and, in some areas, along an elevated river bank.
The trail climbs from the park to a small ridge before descending to small foot bridge. Once over the bridge, the trail climbs again over root exposed singletrack. You'll reach a second larger footbridge that crosses over a small creek. As the trail turns west, you'll reach an elevated bridge that crosses over a larger creek. This bridge can be very slippery so cross with caution and use the hand rails.
This trail allows for access to several other trails as you run west. Once over the bridge, you'll pass the
Yellow Trail to your immediate right. Moving further down, you pass the
Red Trail. As the trail moves away from the river bank, you'll take a right turn over a small creek. If you continue straight after crossing the creek you can access the
Orange Trail. After crossing the creek, continue to to the left.
As the trail starts to move into the forest and away from the river, you'll reach the
Purple Trail on the right. Continue west, crossing over a footbridge, and the trail starts to climb. The trail reaches an intersection of old forest roads near a church before continuing to the west.
Once past the church, the trail becomes very remote and cellular phone service is spotty, so let someone know where you are heading. Also, note that some portions of the trail are still under development and may not be well-maintained. As you continue west, you'll encounter more rolling terrain. The trail will eventually end at an intersection with the Old Canton Cartersville Road.
