Runner Notes
This trail is mapped in the clockwise direction as used in the Spring EveryoneRuns CSP 5.2 or 10.3 mile races utilizing this trail. The Fall race goes in the counterclockwise direction.
Description
From the trailhead parking lot, head NE towards the far north side of the paved circular drive and follow the wide dirt path up a steep incline onto the Nature Loop Trail. This initial hill is a reasonably tough start, but is the only substantial incline on the whole route.
Upon reaching the top of the slope you'll come to a fork in the trail and you can choose either direction as it loops around.
At this point the path is entirely singletrack the rest of the way until coming back to this intersection again and it is extremely easy to follow the trail. There are some slightly rocky sections at points but mostly this is a pretty smooth, short trail. There are some signs along the route with information about wildlife, the Catalinas, etc. if you want to stop and check them out.
Combine this trail with others at the park to create longer outings. Coming down the steep hill at the finish and before reaching the pavement again there are two paths, one leading west towards the
Bridle Trail and the other heading east to the
Canyon Loop Trail.
