Runner Notes
The trail is mowed grass. There may be some wet spots.
Description
This trail winds through Lake Sakakawea State Park, staying pretty close to the shoreline and passing by several picnic areas, near the swimming beach area, and ending near the campground loops. Along the way, you'll enjoy great views of Garrison Dam and out across Lake Sakakawea.
Flora & Fauna
The gently rolling prairie, wooded draws, and shelterbelts contribute food and a secure habitat for a diverse wildlife community. Visitors may see white-tailed deer, ring-necked pheasants, raccoons, jackrabbits, or perhaps a coyote or fox.
