Overview

Great elevation gain, well-shaded trail, and over a dozen waterfalls to look at make this trail a great option for those wishing to get out and explore what Deschutes National Forest has to offer.

Runner Notes

Make sure to stop and look at the waterfalls along this route. For this reason, this trail isn't a great one to run if you're looking to make certain mile times, do speed work, or try and keep your heart rate up—the beautiful falls in such high density along the way are worth slowing down and enjoying.

Description

From the trailhead, head up to the Tumalo Falls Overlook. From here, continue along the North Fork Trail, stopping to look at the various (and beautiful) waterfalls along the way. At 3.5 miles in, you'll want to take a left at the junction onto Swampy Lakes Trail. Run downhill from here, listening for the sound of more waterfalls as you make your way to a left at the Bridge Creek Trail back to the parking area.
