Runner Notes

With a very gradual incline from the west end heading east toward the Four Corners rest area, this trail winds along the canyon floor with intermittent shade and a dry, dirt tread.

Description

Sandwiched between the North Ridge Trail and the South Ridge Trail, this is the more central route to cut across the length of Chino Hills State Park from near Rolling M Ranch in the east to the Carbon Canyon Trail in the west.

Unlike those trails, however, this one winds through a beautiful riparian area at the floor of the canyon in the west half of the park. This can be a terrific area to spot birds or to escape from the heat under the shade of willows and sycamores. For visitors looking for a nice route from the west end, this would make a terrific out-and-back option with a level grade for most of its length.

This trail is open to bicycle traffic.
