Runner Notes
The hill is great for training if you run the trail in reverse! It's wide enough to get a really good hill repeat going on!
Description
Starting from the end of the
Cease Fire Trail, cross over Dallas Highway and make your way onto the large open gravel road. (Be careful at the crossing! Many people will not yield to you as a pedestrian, and there is no cross-walk light!) The trail is fairly wide and will often have many walkers on it.
Less than a quarter mile in, a long downhill awaits. This hill is around half a mile long, with a maximum grade of 9%. Continue on the path and cross over Noses Creek on a very nice bridge. The rest of the trail is a little more narrow, but still doubletrack. Continue straight through the two intersections (following the yellow trail markers) until reaching the parking lot at Burnt Hickory Road.
Many people will walk this trail starting from the Burnt Hickory Parking Lot and walking towards Dallas Highway. This is a great way to get in a good hill workout!
This trail can easily be linked up with other trails in the system to complete runs of all difficulties and distances!
