Overview

The Turkey Creek Trail offers visitors a great run past a fern wall and viewpoint. This run makes for a short, fun outing, especially in the heat of summer. Bring your pooch if you have one, as it will love to cool off in the creek on a hot summer day.

Need to Know

If you decide to bring your dog, make sure to carry poop bags. There are no trash cans beyond the first quarter mile, so it won't hurt to have Fido get to business at the start.

Description

There are plenty of branching trails in the area, so you may want to use the Trail Run Project mobile app to help stay on track.

At the trailhead, you'll see a sign encouraging runners to pick up a rock to help line the trail. From there, the trail starts out relatively flat as it follows the river's edge to a pocked wall layered in ferns.

After passing a scenic overlook, the trail picks up a touch of elevation. On the way back down, the trail requires sure footing, and you may want trekking poles or a good stick to help.

Off-leash dog trail. Great terrain but not worth the hassle. Got bit by a dog here.
