Description
The East Fork Trail #137 is a point-to-point trail that begins, or ends, at Battleship Rock Trailhead and terminates at the Las Conchas Trailhead. Both trailheads are conveniently located on NM State Highway 4. Midway along the trail are two additional trailheads (Jemez Falls and East Fork) with additional access to the trail.
The trail starts with a moderately challenging hike from Battleship Rock up to the Jemez Falls TH. Midway along the climb, runners can take a short break at McCauley's Warm Spring, a beautiful stop for a picnic or to soak your feet. From Jemez Falls, you'll continue along another mile to the East Fork Trailhead.
From here on, the running becomes easier with more rolling hills. The last two miles of the trail follows the East Fork River through meadows of wildflowers in season.
