Description

With the recently paved access road, a long riverside trail like this will become much more popular. The Pratt River Trail begins from the Middle Fork Trailhead. After crossing the famous wood bridge over the Middle Fork River, turn right for the Pratt River Trail (or left for the Middle Fork Trail #1003) The trail is generally smooth and flat as it follows first the Middle Fork and then the Pratt River. The trail gains elevation steeply at mile 10 as you finish your final push up to Pratt Lake.

Trail became quite overgrown between Mile 3 and 4, but it was beautiful until then.

Ran/bushwhacked/navigated 7.9 miles out and back. Trail is very overgrown after about 4 miles. Looks for pink ties in the trees to stay the course. 16mi — 4h 00m

Trail is runnable 5 - 6 miles in and then gradually becomes a brushy, swampy, blowdown-ridden natural obstacle course. 19.8mi — 4h 50m

Trail is impassable after mile 5.5. Downed logs, washed out sections, overgrowth, etc. 5.7mi

Beautiful spot, but the trail was muddy and hard to follow after a few miles. It ended up being more like bush whacking that running/hiking. 12mi
