Description
The
Blue Trail is a really wonderful loop that is easily accessible from the main road. Enter the park from the 4790 Frytown Road entrance and park in the Argonne Forest parking lot. The trail takes you all the way around Argonne Lake, allowing visitors to see the unique wildlife in and around the lake. The trail is wide at all times. The fishing is free, and you do not need a fishing license for the any of the ponds. The reservable sites near the bathrooms are an excellent spot for picnics or dinner parties.
Flora & Fauna
There is a ton of wildlife in and out of the water. Along the banks of the lake are numerous frogs. In the cattails, one can often find Red Wing Blackbirds chattering away. If you're lucky you may even be able to see or hear Great Crested Flycatchers.
