Trail Run Project Logo

The trail is very rocky but beautiful and worth it if you don't have time for the Bison Trail.

Description

The trailhead is located at the Lost Lake picnic area and is clearly marked. Once you get onto the trail, there are a lot of rocks to run over and up. The area as a whole is rocky.

There are many different paths to take along the trail. There are plenty of paths along the edge of the creek it runs along (which I suggest you take). You'll find the "40 FT Hole" along the path that is absolutely gorgeous.

After you get to the Boulder Picnic area, you can choose to run back to the trailhead from the direction you came, make a loop with the Kite Trail, or you may take the road like we did.

Flora & Fauna

Lots of wildlife in the area! We saw buffalo and longhorns once we reached the Boulder Picnic area.
