Description

From the Beaver Lake Trail, about 1/3 of a mile below the lake itself, you'll find the well marked sign for the Royal Elk Trail. The trail immediate starts traversing the Royal Elk ski run. The trail pitches steeply at times, and you cross a couple bridges across running springs.

You'll emerge onto a few of the Grouse Mountain and Birds of Prey runs and get amazing views down the valley to Beaver Creek village. The trail mellows at times until you get to the last push up to Spruce Saddle.
