Description
This 1.5 mile trail starts at the end of Canyon Creek Road North. At the end of the dirt road, there is a parking area that includes a bathroom, but no water. Water can be obtained from Canyon Creek, but filtering/treatment is advised. You start your run on the
Canyon Creek Trail, but after 20' you'll come to a sign/fork that points to the right for the Blodgett Overlook TR #101.
The trail takes a slow rise up to the ridge with a few switchbacks along the way. Along the way, you'll encounter a few benches that are installed at the best viewpoints. A few years back, this area was the scene of an intense wildfire and the remains of that burn are still evident.
There is a good chance that you may encounter some wildlife, so be prepared. I was challenged by a bull moose on my trip and was very fortunate to have removed myself from the situation. Once you reach the ridge, you'll be rewarded with fantastic views of
Blodgett Canyon. Enjoy!
