Description

The Westside Overland Trail follows a mix of ATV-wide path to narrow singletrack. It runs through lots of deep forest sections, shared private land farm fields, and some short road sections. There are even a couple of "lean-to's" for overnight stays.

The trail is maintained by the county, and it's designated as non-motorized multi-use so you may share the trails with some bikers or equestrian riders.

In total, it's a 27-mile long trail that extends from the Brokenstraw State Forest to the Chautauqua Gorge (or vice versa). There are two lean-to’s along the way and each has water pumps. Maps can be found here.

Portions are certainly not overly technical, though there are some steep descents and ascents, scattered roots, and some old and very shaky bridges. The whole thing is a long haul. If you can get someone to drop you off, the trail makes a nice point-to-point run.
