Dogs Leashed

Opens one hour after sunrise and closes one hour before sunset. No camping, fires, etc. The sign at the beginning gives additional information on restrictions.

Description

Just east of the off-leash dog park (in the same parking lot), this wide trail can be taken in either direction.

If heading counter-clockwise (like mapped) the trail follows an longer easier ascent with a short steeper descent at the end. In the opposite, the trail is somewhat more difficult with a more difficult climb up front followed by a long gradual descent on the return. At the top, the trail is a little more rocky.

This is open space, so watch out for bikers, dogs (leashed), and horses. This is a popular dog area, so be prepared for a lot of traffic on weekends. Best to do this during the weekday.

Flora & Fauna

CAUTION: This is rattlesnake country, so keep an eye out. Also, know the difference between a bull snake and rattlesnake. Here is more information. Give snakes a wide berth, and DO NOT kill them. Call CR animal control if in doubt.
