Description

Mud Mountain's Rim Trail is a forested trail that can be enjoyed almost any time of year. Best enjoyed with Fido by your side, this trail heads from the large parking area at Mud Mountain Dam Recreation Area to follow the White River along its forested northern bank.

Along the way, you can't expect plenty of views, save for a few spots. However, those with acute hearing will hear the river flowing powerfully below and can enjoy its companionship.

Thankfully, this area is low enough in elevation that it avoids much of the snow found in the surrounding area in later seasons.

The begining of the trail is just outside the park so you can hike/run the trail regardless of whether or not the park is open.
