Need to Know

As of 8/8/18 be careful around the trailhead as Yellowjackets appear to have made a home in the metal collection box and the hill behind the sign. It's kind of cool to see and hear the buzzing but don't let your kids/dogs etc get close.

Description

Siouxon Creek Trail is one of the best trails in the northwest. It has incredible diverse terrain, creek crossings, and some of the most beautiful waterfalls and clear pools around.

There are two places to start the trail. For a longer run, park at the hairpin corner on NF-5701 about 0.7 miles north of the intersection with Calamity Peak Rd. The trail goes off to the left 100 feet after the hairpin. After about 3 miles traveling on Huffman Peak Trail, you'll come to the official Siouxon Trailhead. This is the second place to start from and generally where most the hikers begin. To reach the trailhead head about 3.7 miles down NF-5701 north and east of the intersection with Calamity Peak Road. Soon after this trailhead you'll drop down to Siouxon Creek that you'll follow along for the next 4 miles and be treated to incredible views of stunning waterfalls and beautiful clear pools.

At around 7 miles, youll come to an area where a small creek flows across the trail on a wide rocky bed. There is a bridge crossing Siouxon Creek to the left that leads up to Huffman Peak, but continue straight past the bridge another 2 miles until the trail crosses another creek. You can continue across the creek and up the trail to its terminus at the National Forest Development Road 58.

However, that section isn't always clear and parties often turn around at this creek crossing.
