This is a multi-use trail system.
Description
The Goulds Rim trail is an out-and back trail, but can be combined with the
JEM Trail and the
Hurricane Rim Trail to make a 20+ mile loop. The Goulds Rim trail is about 70% buff and narrow singletrack. The remainder is doubletrack. It's mostly a gradual climb up, and a fun twisty downhill on the way back. As with all of the trails in the Hurricane, Utah area, there are great vistas in almost every direction. You're at the doorstep of Zion National Park.
From Hurricane City, go south on US-59 up the hill above town for almost a mile. Watch for the Hurricane Rim trailhead on your left. The parking area shares space with cell phone towers. Starting from the Hurricane Rim trailhead, you'll backtrack down the highway for about 1000 feet. Be careful on the highway because the shoulder is very narrow. Turn onto the doubletrack on your left and climb about two miles and then watch for the singletrack to branch off on the right as you reach the top of the hill.
Once on the singletrack you'll cross a few doubletracks, but the trail is obvious on the other side and often marked by signs. At about 3 miles you'll see a corral on your left, continue past the corral on its south side and look for the brown trail sign leading you back into the singletrack going east.
