Features Geological Significance

This trail is only accessible by way of the Naugatuck Trail.

Description

This trail is a spur trail off of the CFPA blue-blazed Naugatuck Trail. It is blazed yellow/blue and is well blazed the whole way.

This is a short trail off the Naugatuck Trail however it is more difficult than it seems. This trail ascends after leaving the main trail and then proceeds to ascend and descend over fairly steep and rock ravines multiple times before ascending on last time and arriving at the eponymous Beacon Cap. Here there are not many views per se however what can be seen over the treetops eludes to the height of this place. Additionally, the glacial erratics are interesting and the open space make it a scenic and worthwhile spur.
