Jack's Trail starts at the Hartman Rocks main parking area, and more specifically, it starts right next to the pit toilets. This is a super classic trail in Gunnison. There are a lot of variations and options for trail extension. Jack's takes you to the top of the hill where there are many more trails to choose from. You can opt to keep going, or you can head back down to the base area.

It's a short trail, just under 2 miles round trip with a couple hundred feet of elevation gain. The elevation gain isn't too bad, but there is also no shade on this trail, do with that information as you'll.

It's a great trail for hiking, biking and running. All the while meandering through a seafoam sea of sagebrush. The views from the top are great too! You can see the iconic rock formations all around you and some of the lovely town of Gunnison off in the distance.
