This somewhat-remote trail heads from the northwestern corner of the 5.5-Mile Loop to a nice overlook. You'll have great distant views of Hill Country, but unfortunately you cannot see the river. The lack of river views is a little disappointing, but it's still a nice quiet corner of the park. Plus, there is a small bench at the top of the overlook that makes a great break spot. The trail continues informally past the bench area, but doesn't present any advantage and ends at a barbed-wire fence after only a few more feet.
