During October - December 2017, warning signs were posted that a bow-hunting deer management program was being conducted in this part of the park. The trail was still open.
Runner Notes
Horses share the trail. They have the right of way.
Description
This trail climbs from the carpark off Bedford Road at the Junction with the Taconic State parkway. There is a short singletrack connector from the carpark trail from the carpark to the Lucy's Loop doubletrack. This doubletrack does connect with Bedford Road to the west of the carpark but at a locked gate with no parking.
Once on the doubletrack, continue uphill to the first loop junction. The right fork is the more direct route. The left fork loops around beside farmland before re-entering the forest. From the upper trail junction, there is an arm of the trail that connects to the Rockefeller Family trails linking this with the rest of the State Park via a tunnel under Bedford Road.
Flora & Fauna
Standard deciduous forest.
