Runner Notes

You can use this trail separate from the "To the High Line" run, but it is best done with its pals Beech Flat Creek Trail and Mountains-to-Sea Trail: Segment 2 as a bigger loop.

Description

For this trail, take the trail to the right that heads down to Piney Creek from the Mountains-to-Sea Trail: Segment 2. At mile 2-ish, you'll come to a creek crossing; use caution. Eventually, you'll come to another forest service gate where you'll continue on Piney Road, a gravel road. For the next 3 miles, continue descending until you hit another gravel road. This is Caney Fork, the same road you drove up. Head back to your vehicle about 2 miles away.
