Overview
Great singletrack trails in a beautiful setting on the San Francisco Bay.
Need to Know
There is plenty of free parking along San Pedro Road with a 0.25 mile walk to the start/finish area. There are restrooms at the start/finish area.
There is a fully stocked aid station at mile 7 for the half marathon and mile 3 for the 10K. There is no aid station for the 5K. We encourage everyone to bring a full water bottle with them during the race and you can always get a refill at the aid station.
Description
This is a rolling hills course with one major climb for both the half marathon and 10K. The trails are usually in great shape. They are mostly wide singletrack with some technical rocky areas, but mostly smooth and fast!
Tucked behind the town of San Rafael and located along the San Francisco Bay, China Camp State Park is a wonderful park for hikers, mountain bikers and, of course, runners. There are lots of singletrack trails to enjoy as well as views of the great landmarks of the Bay Area. Runners enjoy China Camp for its natural canopy of trees which protects you rain or shine, the diverse tidal marshes and the wild turkeys everywhere! This event gives runners a taste of all that the park has to offer.
History & Background
China Camp was a small fishing village created by Chinese immigrants who originally came to California for the gold rush in the 19th century.
