A Discover Pass or day-use fee is required. Day use area is open 8 a.m. to dusk.

The local fire station uses a siren to summon volunteer firefighters for duty. The siren may be activated at any hour of the day or night and can create noisy conditions for visitors.

Need to Know

There are areas along the trail that may pose a fall hazard to unfocused runners or young children. The Green River can have very dangerous currents, and caution should be taken if entering the water.

Description

This trail has many entry points throughout the park. Winding through the mossy forests and along the river, this trail loops around Kanaskat-Palmner State Park.

The trail is not well marked at connecting sections along parking lots or roads, but any trail branches in the woods are marked well.

Flora & Fauna

Flora includes hemlock, cottonwood, alder, spruce, and cedar. Fauna includes birds, forest, and river animals. From one of the wooden bridges, look out over the river and you may see an eagle's nest.
