Description
The Bluff Trail is a short forest trail along Rockaway Bluff Road NE on Bainbridge. By itself the trail is ok—mostly flat, and easy to run—however, about a quarter of the way in there's an old wrecked car on its side against a tree. I wish I knew the story behind that car and how it got there. It looks fairly old—maybe early 60's. Has it been there since that time? Was anyone hurt? Was it really a car accident or did the car just die one day and whoever was driving it decided to push it off the road and let it roll over to its current resting spot?
There is no parking for the Bluff Trail, so you'll have to access the trail by running along local roads. Your best bet would be to park at the end of the
Interpretive Trail and run along NE Halls Hill Road until you get to Rockaway Bluff Road. Be careful as there is no shoulder on the road and there are lots of blind spots for passing vehicles. From the end of the trail you can run straight to the end of NE Pine Way and take a left onto Taylor Road NE. A short way down this road, you'll find the
Taylor Trail on the left, which you can follow back to the northern half of the Bluff Trail.
