There is a nice overlook of Clear Creek at about halfway. It is not super prominent, but you do get good views from one particular outcropping.

The trail can be done in either direction, depending if you are coming from Windy Saddle or Genessee. It is mostly very manageable and pleasant, going through meadow sections and out to an overlook of Clear Creek.

You do start higher up and descend slightly as you get to the overlook area so there will be some uphill to get back up to the Beaver Brook Trail. This makes a nice addition to the Beaver Brook Trail, and is often done as a little side loop. The pleasant running and nice overlook make this a worthwhile addition to your run.

The trail is singletrack, is in pretty good shape, and is not very technical in general.

The trail's namesake, Gudy Gaskill, is credited with being the Mother of The Colorado Trail, now 567 miles long running between Denver and Durango.
