Trails can be very wet.
Description
From Warwick Road, parking at the northernmost road side parking area, cross the road, and the trail begins as a steady climb until you gain a ridge that offers some great views for several miles. Eventually, you'll reach a powerline where you turn right. Keep an eye out when to re-enter the forest on the left. Once back in the forest, follow the trail until you reach Terrace Pond. Turn left and follow the white-blaze trail of the
Terrace Pond Circular Trail.
Terrace Pond has some great rock outcroppings with views of the pond, both on the east and west sides. The east side is more exposed. The south end of the loop has no views of the pond and can be difficult to find. At the north end, the trail shares the path of the
Terrace Pond North Trail. Once around the lake, rejoin the
Terrace Pond North Trail and follow until the trail ends on Clinton Road.
This is also the start of the
Terrace Pond South Trail. It can be very wet after rain or snow melt and, in many spots, it is a rocky tough run. Turn left and follow the yellow blazes past a swamp area that is typically full of water with several beaver mounds. There are not many views along this trail. It ends at the
Terrace Pond Circular Trail. This is an alternate route to the pond to avoid crowds as many take the
Terrace Pond North Trail from the same trailhead. Follow the Circular Trail to the right which will get you back to the
Terrace Pond North Trail. Turn right when you reach
Terrace Pond North Trail and follow the trail back to your car.
