Dogs Off-leash
Runner Notes
This trail is shared by horses and has loose cobbles.
Description
Much of this trail is well-forested until you get past the alpine lakes, so it can make a nice relief from the intense high altitude sun.
You head uphill at a steep but even pace. The trail dips and rises above the creek as you push along. A little past 5 miles you come to an intersection with
Table Mountain Trail #445 .
Stay left and at around 5.5 miles you get to Moon Lake. A short ways from there, you pass Deer Lake.
After this the gain some quick elevation and trees become sparser. At around 7 miles the relentless uphill climb comes to an end and you cruise across the open valley, eventually connecting with
Hellroaring Creek Trail #81 , just before the trail ends.
Flora & Fauna
This is bear country. Take precautions. Moose, mountain goats, big horns are around too.
