Need to Know

Hiking poles are put to good use on this section.

Description

This is one way to access the Wisshorn - Trift trail section or continue to summit of Wisshorn Mountain. The climb is steady and steep at nearly 3000 feet in 2.6 miles. The views (looking back) to the town of Zermatt, and the surrounding mountains, are unmatched. The peak of this trail is often used by paraglider teams to launch and fly the Zermatt Valley. The trail is a clean singletrack with only minor technical rocky sections.

Flora & Fauna

You'll see some small wildflowers on the lower section with a transition to evergreen trees and then to hillsides covered in green grass.
