The trail is mostly in full sun.
The initial mile or so on the Poly Canyon side may be tricky to find the active trail as some trees have fallen on the trail, and users have made their own trails around the obstacles.

Many areas of uneven rocky switchbacks. Some loose rocks on trail.
Description
This trail features two cool old wooden truss bridges on the Poly Canyon side and unlimited views of San Luis Obispo to the ocean from the mountain ridge.
The trail connects with
Poly Canyon Road and
Cal Poly "P" Trail.
