The Abbott Butte Lookout (1939) is deteriorating. Do not enter it or climb it!

Description

This trail—which is actually the old service road to the Abbott Butte Lookout—intersects the Rogue-Umpqua Divide Trail #1470 about 2.5 miles from the trailhead at Huckleberry Gap. The old road prism is still very evident, and is easy to follow up to the still-standing lookout. On a clear, day views from this old lookout site are 360 degrees and stunning.
