Need to Know
You can take the trail from the north or south, but be careful NOT to park in the
Tahquitz Canyon Visitor Center parking lot unless you pay to go on the
Tahquitz Canyon trail. Parking on the north side is found east of the trailhead, along West Mesquite Ave. If you park on the south side, you can park next to the trailhead along South Palm Canyon Drive. Obviously, read and obey all street parking signs.
Description
A rocky trail with wonderful views to the east of Palm Springs and the valley. The trail has a steep incline at the beginning and end, but is fairly moderate in between. Picnic tables great you about a mile in on both the south and north sides of the trail. There are overlooks of the Taquitz Canyon trail along the way where you can see Taquitz Falls in the distance. Bighorn sheep frequent the area, so if you're lucky you might catch a glimpse.
Flora & Fauna
In the spring you'll commonly see blooming yellow brittlebush and flowering cacti. Herds of bighorn sheep frequent the area, so if your lucky you may be able to see or hear them along the trail.
