There's a stream you need to cross about a quarter of the way in if you're heading east to west.
Need to Know
Free parking. The park closes after dark. There were bathrooms at the trailhead.
Runner Notes
The one trail runner we saw fell into the same creek we fell into.
Description
This trail disconnects from the Blackhand Trail, leading you around some ponds fed by runoff from the hills. After crossing one wider stream, you'll start going up and down some larger hills, stopping at many of the cliffs looking over the forest and the old Ohio Canal system.
The Quarry Rim Trail reconnects to the Blackhand Trail at its most western point, leaving you back on the paved trail you started on, albeit about a mile away.
Flora & Fauna
We saw lots of deer tracks in the mud, but no deer. We also saw a few animal dens.
