You'll need to show your passport for the north-most section of the trail.
Overview
This is a special run that follows the path of the city walls of Seoul. The walls go through urban areas and also climb a couple of peaks, providing a great mix of wild and urban, with amazing views from the highest points.
Need to Know
Remember to bring your passport. The north part of the trail requires a passport check—you'll be given a pass to deposit at the end of the controlled section. It is controlled because a North Korean commando once entered the city from there. That will make you run that section a bit faster than usual.
Runner Notes
The trail is a wide variety of terrain—some dirt, pavement, rock steps, wood steps—a bit of everything.
Description
The city of Seoul was encircled by ancient walls that have been thoroughly restored. This path follows the walls all around the city. It is not a flat run-the walls follow the ridge to the top of several hills.
This path is actually advertised by the city of Seoul—you can find a pamphlet in the tourist offices, with a map, and in most places you can follow the trail easily thanks to marker tiles.
There are even stamps at the 4 main gates to the city, where you can stamp your pamphlet to prove that you did it!
More information on the trail, can be found
