Description

This trail, also known as the Phil Arnold Trail, starts at the intersection of JFK Drive and Conservatory Drive East, just west of the McLaren Lodge, and continues over knolls, passes the horseshoe courts, crosses Arguello Boulevard, and ends at 6th Avenue. The trail provides a peaceful respite and sinuous alignment through a remnant forest of mature coast live oak trees. Phil Arnold advocated more than three decades for parks, open spaces, and recreational opportunities throughout the Bay Area.

Flora & Fauna

The Oak Woodlands is a remnant forest located in the northeast corner of Golden Gate Park along Fulton Avenue between Stanyan and 6th Avenue. The area was added to the Old Growth Forest Network in 2015 and provides significant wildlife habitat.
