General access to this trail closes during the winter months, after significant snowfall has resulted in the closing of the Brownie Canyon Road.

Need to Know

This trail is open to high clearance vehicles and ATVs.

Description

The trail is accessed from the first road that forks to the right from the Red Cloud Loop after it has climbed out of Brownie Canyon. About 0.25 miles down this road there is fork in an excavated area. Parking and dispersed camping abound in this area. To begin the run, take the left fork (shown as FR #508 on the forest service map) and follow the doubletrack through the forest. Views to the right over Dry Fork Canyon begin to open up about 2 miles down this trail. The trail ends at 3.2 miles, giving you a spectacular overlook directly down into Dry Fork Canyon.
