Street parking is available in downtown Frankfort and at the Farmer's Market lot on the corner of Broadway and Wilkinson.
Description
River View Trail is a paved path that runs from the Ward Oates Amphitheater off Main Street in downtown Frankfort through Frankfort's River View Park all the way to Buffalo Trace Distillery.
Along with a welcome pavilion, there are picnic tables where friends and families can enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Kentucky River while picnicking and/or socializing. There are 16 historic sites including prehistoric and early Indian cultures along the 1-mile walking trail. A monument representing the three original Kentucky counties can be found on the trail.
Located at the south end of the park is Frankfort's Ward Oates Amphitheatre, which provides a serene setting for musical and theatrical presentations. Perhaps the park's most popular feature is the Farmers' Market Pavilion, where shoppers can obtain local vegetables, fruit, meat, flowers, and other produce. The Farmers' Market is at the west end of Broadway.
